Rabat Sheth Alumni


Ex-West End Girls (WEGs) leader Rahat Sheth has been inducted into the 1V Alumni programme for her continued services to youth work in Blackburn and Darwen.

Rahat is celebrating her fantastic A level results and will be supporting local young people while studying at university. Earlier this year she won the 1V Excellence in Leadership Award, presented by the Deputy Chief Executive of Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council, Denise Park.

The 1V alumni programme commenced in 2017 to celebrate educational and volunteering successes for One Voice Blackburn.

Inductees include Zahra Ahmed, Adnan Raja and Aisha Seedat – all studying at university following outstanding exam results, and a history of leadership successes at One Voice. Other alumnis include winners of the 1V Excellence in Health and 1V Excellence in Education Award winners.

18 year old Rahat Sheth joined One Voice as part of the award winning West End Girls (WEGs) four years ago. She went on to lead the group, then support future leaders of the group, and is now a member of the 2020 Vision leadership group. Under her tenure as leader the WEGs saw the largest rise in participation rate.

As well as her leadership roles, Rahat was a College A level students. She combined her volunteering with One Voice with a strenuous college programme.

Chief Executive Officer at one Voice Blackburn, Zaffer Khan, said,

“Rahat is an exceptional young woman. She has supported the One Voice programme for the last four years. We are delighted that she has achieved excellent A level results, and will be studying a teaching degree. We look forward in seeing her develop into a professional career, while giving something back to the community. We are immensely proud to give her Alumni status.”
