HIGH TEA FOR GOOD NEIGHBOURS
As part of a Near Neighbours project, the One Voice Women’s Network held a High Tea event. One hundred guests attended the vibrant event including the Mayor and Mayoress of Blackburn with Darwen, and Council leader Mohammed Khan. It was funded by the Near Neighbours campaign. Read more
LOVE THY NEIGHBOUR
One Voice were awarded a grant to deliver a series of community cohesion initiatives in Blackburn with Darwen.
The scouting community of Blackburn and Darwen are one of the most inclusive when it comes to cohesion. The 1V Scouts and St. George’s Mill Hill Scouts enjoyed the Skydiving at iFly in Manchester, and some great conversations.
WIDENING THE NET
Netball is the fastest growing female sport int he UK, especially with the England Netball team winning the Commonwealth Games Gold medal. The 1V Netball group met with West Pennine Netball Club over a period of time through netball sessions and a well earned meal.
TEA FOR THE MANY
One Voice held a High Tea event in the heart of Mill Hill in Blackburn. The event at Ivy St in Blackburn attracted ladies from the local community as well as network of women fro the South Asian heritage community.
