A series of coffee mornings have been held at Inspire in Blackburn to encourage members of the South Asian heritage community to visit substance abuse offices and see their work.

Falls Prevention Workshops Attracts Dozens of Ladies

One Voice Blackburn held a Falls Prevention session as part of the Baiter Sehat project with re:fresh Blackburn with Darwen and Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council Public Health. Nearly 50 women attended the three hour session. Groups supporting the event included Watch your Step and Wellbeing Service.

One Voice have launched a campaign to make Whalley Range, Blackburn a dementia friendly area as part of the award winning Baiter Sehat project in partnership with Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council. Read more

Delay Dementia Leaflet is Launched

The initiative is part of phase 5 of the award winning Baiter Sehat project, which is in partnership with Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council.

 

During Phase 4, focus groups revealed that people wanted to know how to delay or prevent dementia.  One Voice have worked with local GP Dr Pervez Muzaffar to explore this alongside Age UK Blackburn with Darwen.
