What is 2020 Vision?
2020 Vision is a project-based initiative created by One Voice Blackburn. It encompasses various social action programmes aimed at developing the next generation of leaders. It was launched in November 2015.
2020 Vision is a community think tank that will lend its views to local decision makers in shaping Blackburn and Darwen. Members are aged between 15 and 20. Some of the individuals are students at universities throughout the UK and beyond, with the aim giving back to their home town once their career paths have been established.
Projects include community cohesion, drugs and alcohol abuse within the BME communities among young people, and debating programmes.
2020 Vision support the local Council during civic events including Remembrance Sunday marshalling, and the Mayoral event every May.
